Participants will explore how language shapes perception, how bias lives in communication, and how personal narratives can break down barriers and build authentic connections across differences.

This workshop will inspire and empower participants to use creative expression to amplify diverse voices and cultivate a more inclusive work culture. Through performance, dialogue, and reflection, they’ll gain practical tools for using inclusive language and storytelling in everyday professional settings.

Language, Code-Switching & Black Identity

This workshop educates participants on the historical and cultural significance of language in Black communities, with a focus on code-switching and African American Vernacular English (AAVE) as tools of survival, intelligence, and identity.

Participants will explore how language shapes perception, how bias and power operate through communication norms, and how navigating multiple linguistic worlds impacts authenticity, belonging, and psychological safety…particularly in professional environments.

This workshop invites participants to rethink language not as a deficit, but as cultural knowledge and adaptability. Through historical context, dialogue, and guided reflection, participants gain greater awareness of inclusive communication practices and how language choices influence connection, equity, and workplace culture.

Mental Health

This workshop will help participants explore the intersectional nuances that disadvantaged populations experience around mental health and mental health care.

The participants will also explore their attitudes about mental health to break down stigma within themselves and, hopefully, create a ripple effect within their communities.

Black Poetry: An Art That Shaped American Culture

This workshop will educate the participants about the nuanced ways in which Black poetry has shaped Black culture and American history. Participants will explore themes of identity, race, and social justice prevalent in Black poetry.

This workshop will inspire and empower the participants to continue exploring and celebrating the art of Black poetry with its complexity and beauty.

Black and Queer: An Intersection of Nuance

This workshop will educate the participants about the intersectionality of race and sexuality. They will understand the nuanced layers of discrimination that Black and Queer people face and will explore the resilience and resistance of the Black Queer community.

This workshop will challenge the participants to step outside their identities and experiences.; thus fostering a stronger sense of community and solidarity.
